I hope you are enjoying a restful and enjoyable summer.
Welcome to the start of a new school year—a year filled with purpose, optimism, and opportunity. Great communities are strengthened by great schools, and we remain committed to providing the very best educational experience for all members of our school community—our students, families, and staff.
As we move into August, we are sharing important back-to-school information, including details regarding the annual student information verification process, school-specific communications, upcoming orientation opportunities, and key dates for the beginning of the school year.
POWERSCHOOL ANNUAL STUDENT INFORMATION VERIFICATION
Stafford Public Schools has transitioned the annual student information verification process to a fully electronic format. Paper forms will not be sent home on the first day of school.
This important annual process allows parents and guardians to review and electronically verify their student’s demographic, emergency, and medical information, as well as complete required releases and agreements. Maintaining accurate information is essential to ensuring that the district and schools can effectively communicate with and support every student.
The electronic verification process is now available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
To begin:
- Log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
- Select “Forms” from the navigation panel on the left side of the screen.
- Each student connected to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account will have an individual tab at the top of the page.
- Select “Student Online Check-In (Start Here)” to begin the process.
- Complete each form as prompted. The system will automatically save and submit forms as they are completed and direct you to the next required form.
Each school may also have additional school-specific forms that must be completed.
If you have not yet activated your child’s PowerSchool Parent Portal account, need assistance accessing the portal, or require access to technology to complete the forms, please contact your child’s school office or email powerschool@stafford.k12.ct.us.
Please complete the annual student information verification process by Friday, September 4, 2026. Completing the process by this date will provide school staff with adequate time to review and verify the information before it is finalized in your child’s student record.
SCHOOL-SPECIFIC INFORMATION
School-specific information, including student schedules, class rosters, and other important back-to-school details, will begin to be shared later this week. If you do not receive this information by mail or electronically by next week, please contact your child’s school directly.
ORIENTATIONS AND FAMILY MEET-AND-GREETS
During the week of August 24, each school will offer school-specific orientation opportunities and/or family meet-and-greet events. Additional information, including dates and times, will be shared soon by each school.
IMPORTANT BACK-TO-SCHOOL DATES
- Thursday, August 27: First Day of School
- Friday, September 4: Early Release Day for Professional Development
- Monday, September 7: Labor Day—No School
ANNUAL NOTIFICATIONS
Attached to this email are the district’s required annual notifications for families and staff. These notifications are also included within the district and school handbooks and will be available on the Stafford Public Schools website under the “For Parents” section.
